Exhibition Special - Schwarzweiß 09
This work captures one of the rare moments when snow settles along the Rhine in Cologne. The city appears softened, as though it has drawn a deep breath and, for an instant, chosen tranquillity over its usual restless rhythm.
In the center struggles a lone cyclist slowly but deliberately through the path, with each turn of the wheel representing an act of silent resistance. Bare trees line her path like finely sculpted forms, their dark branches dusted with white, guiding the gaze into a distance that gently dissolves into dream.
The gloom in this art work is not oppressive, but a subtle, diaphanous veil. One that settles over the city and reveals a quiet, understated beauty.
